Capoeira with Puneet on  Tuesdays (Grades 2-6)

An Afro-Brazilian dance-fight art form which includes dance, martial arts, gymnastics, music and history! Students will learn individual and partner movements. They will also learn Portuguese and collaborate as a band to sing, clap and play a variety of percussion instruments. Capoeira fosters self-expression and creativity in a safe and playful environment! Puneet Rao is an LPS parent, an educator for over 15 years and has studied capoeira since 2006. 

Chess with Riley Yates-Doerr on Mondays (Grades 2-6)

Come learn one of the world’s oldest and greatest board games! This class is for students of varied levels. The class will serve as an introduction to chess. It will also feature basic strategy and tactics, while recognizing that many students are still getting a feel for the game. There will be lots of opportunities to play partners of similar skill level. Riley hopes to foster a love of a game that’s wonders can last a lifetime. Riley is a FIDE chess master and a parent at LPS.

Circus with Liam Quat on Tuesdays (Grades 2-6)

Circus 101 is for the very beginner! Learn the basics of juggling, diablo, plate spinning, flower sticks, stilt walking, unicycle, acrobatics, pyramids and so much more. This is a great way to discover all that the Circus has to offer! Each week will focus on one or two specific skills. A great introduction to the circus arts. You have probably seen Liam around town or at Shadfest jump roping while bouncing on a ball or walking tall on stilts. Liam has been studying the art for 25 years and is an LPS parent also!

Coding with Ms. Jenkins on Wednesdays (Pre-K - 2) and on Thursdays (Grades 3-5)

Do you like to code and create things during STEM class? Would you like to learn more about computer science and how to write your own code or create something new and exciting? If so, join the Coding/Makerspace Club! Ms. Jenkins is a teacher at LPS! 

(Pre-K Students must be 4 and potty trained)

Drama Club with Ms. Horton on Wednesdays (Grades 1-3) and on Thursdays (Grades 4-6)

Drama Club is for anyone who is interested in learning about the basics of drama. Students will learn about the key components of theater such as ensembles, set design, character development, and acting strategies. Each week will feature new games and activities to provide a hands-on learning experience. Ms Horton is a teacher at LPS also!

Pokemon Drawing Club with Liz Glynn on Tuesdays (Grades 2-6)

Join in the fun of drawing Pokemon characters. We’ll be following along step by step, to draw our favorite characters together. Kids will also be able to get creative and create their own Pokemon characters and stories. Kids will also be able to discuss and bring their cards for trading at the end of the class. Liz is also an LPS parent.

Soccer with  Ms. Wesner  on Tuesdays (Grades 2-6)

This club will include various activities, games, and discussions that teach the game of soccer. Students will learn how to play soccer and we will even go outside to practice some drills and skills! Ms. Wesner is a teacher at LPS! (Pre-K Students must be 4 and potty trained)

Yoga Games with Ms. Kimberly Gabriel on Tuesdays (Pre-K - 3)

Students will learn yoga movements through a variety of games such as Yoga Bingo; Beach Ball; Freeze Dance; Dice Game and more!  The purpose of this class is to get the children moving, stretching, breathing and having fun while interacting with one another.  We will play games and end the class with relaxation techniques.  Yoga can improve focus, confidence and strength.  It can also reduce anxiety and stress. Ms. Kim is a para at LPS!
